It was okay. We went during Clawson Fest so I might give it another try when it’s not so busy. I got the tavern burger, it was pretty basic & not very flavorful. It would be nice if the sandwiches were served with fries, but they aren’t so we paid extra for a side of fries and barely got any. They were a mix of straight & crinkle cut so they must’ve been running out. My mom got the Reuben & really liked it. For drinks, I tried the tropical punch cocktail. It was good! i would come back to try the appetizers & other drinks.
Very poor acoustics. I had to ask for the Red Wings game. Apparently, they think sports talkshows are more important. Our waitress seemed agitated & gave poor service & had the nerve to ask if we needed change on a $56 bill when given $100. Seriously: a $44 tip she thought she was worth?! Lol. Not w/ that subpar food. My fish wasn’t cooked right at all: no searing & was a bit on the undercooked side. I was given no butter or sour cream for my potatoes. My buddy didn’t even finish his cheeseburger.
The calamari was gross, the drinks were horrible. Their people, THE WORST. I realize now the owner allowed a bartender from “The Hideout” who had eavesdropped on a convo I had with my parents friend,(at the bar when I was at a table, she was a bar tender who was extremely offended) at the Hide Out about how they thought the place was a dumb and I agreed due to a broken mirror and toilet paper everywhere in the bathroom. It was a “dump”…she works there!!! Not only did my boyfriend catch her whispering to the bartender (and many other employees see in photo) but also at the end, she made it clear she was out to get me when I confronted the owner about such horrible service and drinks we had received. The owner was kind, she offered free drinks but the lady from Hideout came over and made it clear she had it out for me and made everything worse!!! due to the experience at “The Hideout”, she ruined my experience at The Tavern on Main, the photo I’m posting is of all employees drunk at the bar. I’ve had three horrible experiences at this place and I really was hoping that things had changed. (Few years apart) if that owner doesn’t take action then I’m so sorry for their establishment, that’s the most u professional experience I’ve EVER had. They also broke a couple bottles of wine and glasses while we dined there and never apologized for the horrid smell…as I said..
We ordered the Tirokafteri (feisty feta), Mile High Stacked Club side of french fries and the Wild Caught Snapper dinner. If the sandwich picture doesn’t speak for itself, go order one to try because it’s delicious. I love a generous sandwich 👏🏻Fish was tasty too and we enjoyed the feisty feta dip which tasted like spicy, creamy feta. I would recommend toasting the pita that came with it next time though. Great local spot and wonderful outdoor area to relax in and enjoy your food.
Went during the day, and the service was amazing. The waitress was very polite and kept checking on us. The atmosphere was great and clean! And the food was delicious. I was not disappointed at all. It was definitely worth a try. I'm looking forward to bringing my wife back here!
Just the best burgers (and fries) around. Super friendly, attentive, staff. Love the remodeled facility. If the weather is warm, sit outside on the huge patio!
We have been looking for a great burger since our former "great burger" restaurant changed the burger supplier. Ugh! We took a chance on "Tavern On the Main". Well hallelujah! This Tavern has a Great Burger! They use Angus beef not just an uninspired ground beef. I like medium-rare, my husband likes medium. The burgers were both grilled to specification. This showed us that care is taken to prepare what was ordered. This is our burger headquarters...If you are a burger connoisseur "Tavern On the Main" should at top of your list..
We ordered chicken tenders. They were anything but tender. Left in the deep fryer way too long. Terrible. In their defense, the last time we were there, the burgers were pretty good. This time, service was mediocre and the food was bad.
